If the apocalypse happens I’ll be doomed

I spend a good chunk of my time on my laptop when I’m not working. Connecting to the internet is an integral part of my life. I don’t know what I’d do without technology.

I can’t live without my:

  • MacBook Pro
  • iPhone
  • Kindle

I don’t watch a lot of television. (My T.V. randomly shuts off when I’m trying to watch a show…it’s like fifteen years old.) I end up watching my shows online. Social media sites (Pinterest, Tumblr, Facebook, and YouTube) also take up my time.

My iPhone is not just a phone. It’s my watch, a distraction (Pocket Mine is a great game), I check the weather on it, and I can see all my email in one place (before I figured out how to do that on my laptop, D’OH!). And it takes better videos than my point-and-shoot camera.

As far as my Kindle — I didn’t like the idea of an eReader before I received a Kindle for Christmas a few years ago. I enjoy collecting books, holding them, and seeing them on my bookshelf. But it’s great having a bunch of books all on one device that’s portable. Ebooks are also usually cheaper than paper books.

I guess if the apocalypse did happen and technology went away I’d go back to my paper books. But then I’m afraid I’d end up like that guy on The Twilight Zone. You know, the guy who wanted everyone to go away so he could read and he got his wish only for his glasses to break (he was pretty much blind with them). Yeah, that would suck…

What technology could you not live without? Let me know in the comments.
